Hudson Police Reports: Theft, Fraud and Juvenile Incidents

The Hudson Police Department responded to a variety of incidents between Sept. 21 and Oct. 2, including multiple theft and fraud cases, juvenile matters, and a robbery at a local financial institution.

Theft and Fraud

Officers investigated several theft cases during the period. On Sept. 22, police responded to a residence on the block of Middleton Road for a theft report.

On Sept. 24, an officer was called to the block of Ogilby Drive for a report of theft from an online sale. Investigation determined a Facebook page had been hacked and used to scam people by advertising vehicles and puppies for sale at extremely cheap prices. The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau and later closed.

A resident on the block of Barlow Road reported a cell phone stolen from their residence on Sept. 30. No suspects were identified.

Police also took theft reports at a gas station on the block of South Main Street on Sept. 30. The first incident involved a juvenile suspect. Later that evening, a suspect entered a business on the same block and took merchandise without paying.

Multiple fraud cases were reported during the period. A business on the block of Hudson Crossing Parkway reported a theft through their banking system on Sept. 29. Officers responded to another fraud report at the same location on Sept. 30. On Oct. 1, police responded to the police lobby for a fraud report involving a residence on the block of Middleton Road.

Robbery Investigation

On Oct. 1, the Hudson Police Department investigated a robbery at a financial institution on the block of Darrow Road.

Criminal Activity

A student at Hudson High School on the block of Hudson Aurora Road was brought in for a drug offense on Sept. 23.

On Sept. 27 at approximately 8:09 p.m., police responded to Stir’s Studio Kitchen on the block of Clinton Street for an intoxicated male who was trespassing. The individual was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

A traffic stop was conducted on Barlow Road at Terex Road on Sept. 29 after an observed violation. The driver was found to be under suspension and was cited. Another occupant drove the vehicle from the scene.

Juvenile and Domestic Matters

School staff reported that a child reported a physical confrontation with a parent on the block of Olde Farm Lane on Sept. 22.

Officers were dispatched on Sept. 22 for students who refused to go to school on the block of Nantucket Drive. The following day, police were dispatched for a welfare check on a child who refused to come to school on the block of Stoney Hill Drive.

On Sept. 28, officers responded to the police department lobby for an assault that occurred the previous night at Highfields Event Center on the block of Georgetown Road.

Police took a threats report at the station on Sept. 29 involving a residence on the block of Atterbury Boulevard.

Traffic Matters

Police responded to a traffic complaint on the block of Carriage Hill Drive on Sept. 21.

On Sept. 27, officers responded to the parking lot in front of Brubaker’s on the block of Darrow Road for a possible impaired driver.

Hudson Police investigated two school bus violations on Sept. 30. The first occurred at approximately 8:52 a.m. on the block of Stow Road, and the second at approximately 9:07 a.m. on the block of Stow Road.

Other Incidents

A resident reported a lost or stolen wallet on the block of North Main Street on Sept. 22. That same day, police responded to a solicitor complaint on the block of Olde Farm Lane.

On Sept. 23, a vehicle was stopped for a moving violation on the block of Barlow Road. The driver had an active warrant through Brunswick Police Department and was given a warning for speed and transported to Country Maid Ice Cream, where they were transferred to Brunswick Police.

Police responded to the area of the block of Sullivan Road on Sept. 23 for a complaint of gunshots being heard in the area. Another noise complaint was reported on the same block on Sept. 28.

Officers investigated suspicious activity on several occasions. On Sept. 26, police responded to a suspicious male report on the block of Lauren Drive. On Sept. 29, police were alerted about a suspicious phone call on the block of Stow Road. On Sept. 30, a resident reported a suspicious person in their driveway on the block of North Hayden Parkway.

Hudson Police utilized a drone for aerial reconnaissance on the block of South Oviatt Street on Sept. 29.

Officers responded to multiple animal-related calls, including lost dogs on the blocks of Ravenna Street, Sunset Drive and Hines Hill Road. Police also responded to a complaint of a dog barking on the block of Brafferton Avenue and a report of two loose dogs near a public roadway on West Streetsboro Street at Terex Road. On Oct. 1, officers responded to a report of chickens running at large on the block of Walters Road.

Civil matters were documented on the blocks of Middleton Road on Sept. 25, Sept. 27 and Oct. 1.
