Hudson Police Handle Domestic Incidents, Mental Health Calls

Officers respond to range of incidents from theft to welfare checks across community

DOMESTIC INCIDENTS

Officers took a report of domestic violence on Oct. 9 on State Route 8 North. Earlier in the week, on Oct. 3, officers responded to another domestic incident at the police department lobby on Winslow Drive.

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health-related calls required police attention on multiple occasions. On Oct. 3, officers responded to Ravenna Street for a juvenile experiencing a mental health crisis. Later that day, dispatch received a 911 call from a passenger on West Streetsboro Street who exited a vehicle in traffic to report the driver was having a mental health crisis. Officers also responded to Elmcrest Drive on Oct. 4 for a suicidal male.

TRAFFIC/OVI

A motorcyclist was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after being stopped for speed and improper passing violations at Darrow Road and Valley View on Oct. 3.

THEFT

Theft was reported on East Blackthorn Circle on Oct. 6.

JUVENILE COMPLAINTS

Police responded to several juvenile-related incidents during the week. Officers contacted a group of juveniles at Ellsworth Hill Elementary School playground after curfew on Oct. 5. On Oct. 7, a teenager on Ravenna Street refused to go to school. Officers also responded to a juvenile complaint on Stoney Hill Drive on Oct. 8.

ASSAULT/HARASSMENT

An assault was reported at an assisted living facility on West Streetsboro Street on Oct. 7. Officers responded to Restore Cold Pressed on Park Lane for a harassment report on Oct. 4.

FIRE/MEDICAL

Hudson Police assisted the fire department with a house fire on Hudson Park Drive on Oct. 7. An elderly male was found unresponsive on Omni Lake Parkway the same day, though no suspicious circumstances were discovered.

OTHER INCIDENTS

Additional incidents included a solicitor complaint on Barlow Road, a fraudulent letter reported at the police lobby, a suspicious incident near the Park Lane crosswalk, and property damage reported at Hines Hill Road and Walters Road. Officers also assisted the city code inspector serving a citation on Middleton Road on Oct. 9.
