Hudson Police responded to various incidents throughout the city during the week of Oct. 18-25, including suspicious activity reports, identity theft, and a missing juvenile who was later located.
THEFT AND FRAUD
Identity Theft Oct. 23 – Officers took a report at the police lobby regarding identity theft.
Theft Report Oct. 21 – A theft report was filed at the police department lobby on S. Oviatt Street.
Vehicle Repossession Oct. 20 – A vehicle was repossessed from the Barlow Road parking lot after the owner defaulted on the vehicle loan.
Telecommunications Harassment/Extortion Oct. 23 – A resident reported receiving threats to send compromising photos to their Instagram followers unless money was sent. The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for review. With limited information and the phone number deactivated, the investigation reached a dead end.
Oct. 20 – Police responded to the station for a telecommunications harassment report.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Suspicious Person Reports Oct. 25 – Officers were dispatched to Ravenna Road for suspicious activity.
Oct. 25 – An officer responded to St. Ives Boulevard for suspicious activity.
Oct. 18 – Police responded to the area of Sapphire Drive and Topaz Drive for a suspicious person report.
Oct. 18 – Officers investigated suspicious activity on W. Streetsboro Street.
Suspicious Vehicle Oct. 18 – A resident reported to the police station that a suspicious vehicle had been following her.
PROPERTY AND SECURITY
Open Doors/Windows Oct. 22 – Officers found an unsecured door during a vacation check on Groton Drive.
Oct. 22 – Police responded to an Aurora Street residence for a report of an open door.
Oct. 21 – Officers investigated a suspicious open door at a North Mannheim Court residence.
Oct. 18 – Police observed an open vehicle door in the parking lot of Ruby Auto Sales on Darrow Road.
Found Property Oct. 24 – Officers responded to Hudson Library regarding found property.
Oct. 23 – A gold ring found by East Woods School staff was turned in to police.
WEAPONS AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
Weapons Investigation Oct. 18 – Police investigated a report of gunshots behind a Timberline Trail residence.
Criminal Mischief Oct. 18 – Officers responded to a wooded area behind a business on W. Streetsboro Street for found fireworks.
Driving Under Suspension Oct. 23 – An officer stopped a vehicle for a speed violation near Terex Road and Darrow Road. The driver was cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
Warrant Arrest Oct. 18 – A male occupant of a disabled vehicle on W. Streetsboro Street near State Route 8 was arrested on a warrant from Oakwood Village Police Department.
JUVENILE MATTERS
Missing Juvenile Oct. 25 – Police responded to a Kingswood Drive residence for a missing juvenile report.
Juvenile Complaints Oct. 22 – Officers responded to a juvenile truancy matter on Hudson Aurora Road.
Oct. 22 – Police investigated a juvenile complaint.
Oct. 21 – A juvenile complaint was reported to police.
Oct. 20 – Officers dealt with a juvenile complaint on Hudson Aurora Road.
CIVIL AND COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE
Civil Matters Oct. 20 – Officers responded to Walters Road for a civil matter.
Oct. 18 – Police documented a civil matter for a Kate Drive resident.
Oct. 18 – Officers responded to Hudson Middle School for a civil matter report.
Disabled Vehicles Oct. 24 – Police assisted a resident with a disabled vehicle near Darrow Road and Terex Road.
Oct. 21 – Officers responded to a disabled semi truck in the roadway near SR 91 and Middleton Road.
Agency Assistance Oct. 24 – Hudson Police assisted Boston Heights Police on State Route 8 northbound.
Oct. 21 – Officers assisted another agency.
Oct. 19 – Police responded to assist Peninsula Police Department at their request.
Oct. 18 – Officers assisted Cuyahoga Falls Police Department with a suspicious vehicle near W. Streetsboro Street and Route 8.
Crash Investigation Oct. 22 – The Summit Metro Crash Response Team was requested by Kent Police Department for a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash investigation.
QUALITY OF LIFE
Noise Complaint Oct. 18 – Officers responded to the Barlow Road area for a loud party complaint.
Parking Complaint Oct. 22 – An officer was dispatched to W. Streetsboro Street for a parking complaint on private property.
Welfare Check Oct. 23 – Police checked on the welfare of a student.
Informational Reports Oct. 24 – An officer was dispatched to Drug Mart for an information report.
Oct. 23 – An officer took information from a Barberton police officer at the station.
Oct. 21 – Officers assisted with getting a student home from McDowell Elementary School.
Oct. 21 – Police took an informational report at the station.
Oct. 20 – An officer responded to the police lobby for an informational report.
Oct. 20 – Officers responded to Brafferton Avenue for an information report.
