OHSAA Football Playoffs: Northeast Ohio Teams Advance to Regional Quarterfinals

Top-seeded squads host second-round matchups Friday night

The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced second-round football playoff pairings, with several northeast Ohio teams earning home games for the regional quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 7.

In Division I Region 1, top-seeded Lakewood St. Edward hosts Berea-Midpark, while second-seeded Mentor welcomes Massillon Jackson. Canton McKinley, the third seed, faces Medina in another regional matchup.

Division II Region 5 features Akron Archbishop Hoban as the top seed hosting Youngstown Boardman. Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit earned the second seed and plays Macedonia Nordonia, while Austintown Fitch takes on Uniontown Green. Hudson travels to Uniontown Lake in the fourth matchup.

Region 6 sees Medina Highland as the top seed facing Brecksville-Broadview Heights. Second-seeded Wadsworth hosts Toledo St. Francis de Sales, third-seeded Avon welcomes Olmsted Falls, and North Ridgeville plays Whitehouse Anthony Wayne.

In Division III Region 9, Canfield earned the top seed and hosts Chagrin Falls Kenston. Cuyahoga Falls CVCA, the second seed, plays Geneva. Gates Mills Hawken faces Akron East, while Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph takes on Maple Heights.

Region 10 features Medina Buckeye as the top seed hosting St. Marys Memorial. Rocky River travels to Richfield Revere in another regional contest.

Division IV Region 13 has Perry as the top seed facing Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. Cleveland Glenville hosts Salem, Mentor Lake Catholic welcomes Streetsboro, and Beloit West Branch plays Norton.

Region 14 includes Shelby as the top seed hosting Orrville, while Lodi Cloverleaf travels to Galion.

In Division V Region 17, Youngstown Cardinal Mooney earned the top seed and hosts Canfield South Range. Girard plays Akron Manchester, Poland Seminary faces Youngstown Liberty, and Garrettsville Garfield takes on St. Clairsville.

Region 18 features Fairview Park Fairview traveling to Wooster Triway, while Port Clinton visits Genoa Area.

Division VI Region 21 sees Kirtland as the top seed hosting Wickliffe. Columbiana Crestview plays Sugarcreek Garaway, Columbia Station Columbia faces Dalton, and Hanoverton United welcomes Smithville.

In Division VII Region 25, McDonald earned the top seed and hosts Warren JFK. Fairport Harbor Fairport Harding plays East Canton, Mogadore faces East Palestine, and Monroeville takes on Malvern.

All games kick off at 7 p.m. Friday. The top four seeds in each region earned first-round byes and will host through the regional quarterfinals. Regional semifinals are scheduled for Nov. 14, with regional finals on Nov. 21. State semifinals take place Nov. 28, and championship games will be held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton from Dec. 4-6.
