OVI Arrest Follows Traffic Stop
Officers arrested a North Royalton man for operating a vehicle under the influence early Nov. 9 following a traffic stop on Canal Road near Valley View Road. The 35-year-old driver was stopped around 11:24 p.m. Nov. 8 and also cited for speeding and driving in marked lanes. A passenger from North Royalton was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The incident was cleared at 1:50 a.m.
Drug Possession During Traffic Stop
A traffic stop late Nov. 9 on Sagamore Road led to the seizure of suspected heroin, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. Officers conducted the stop around 11:50 p.m. involving a 29-year-old Northfield woman who was driving and a 29-year-old Northfield man who was a passenger. Police seized items including a half-cut clear plastic straw and containers with tan rock and powder substances weighing approximately 11 grams each. The incident was cleared at 12:44 a.m. Nov. 10.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
Injury Crash Near Brandywine
Officers responded to an injury accident on West Highland Road near Brandywine ski resort around 4:04 p.m. Nov. 7. Three vehicles were involved in the collision, including drivers from Sagamore Hills and Akron. The incident was cleared at 6:52 p.m.
Vehicle Strikes Deer
Officers dispatched an injured deer on Valley View Road Nov. 10 after a Youngstown man struck the animal with his vehicle around 6:25 p.m. The 24-year-old driver was uninjured. The incident was cleared at 6:49 p.m.
Other Incidents
Injured Opossum Response
Officers responded to an injured opossum on Brandywine Road around 10:56 p.m. Nov. 7. The animal complaint was cleared at 11:01 p.m.
Harassment Report
Officers took a report for harassment at a Smithfield Drive residence Nov. 10. A 39-year-old Sagamore Hills woman reported harassment involving a 69-year-old Brecksville man. The incident, which occurred between Nov. 8 and Nov. 10, was cleared at 6:31 p.m.
