Solon Police Reports: Gun Brandished in Road Rage, High‑Speed OVI and Jail Sex‑Assault Investigation

SOLON, Ohio – The following Solon police reports summarize notable incidents the department investigated Nov. 19–23.

Road‑rage gun brandishing (Nov. 19, early morning)

A motorist reported that another driver displayed a handgun during a traffic altercation near the police station. Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle shortly afterward and recovered a loaded semi‑automatic pistol. The driver was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing. There were no injuries; the vehicle was towed. The matter remains under investigation.

Domestic threats and sexually oriented allegation (Nov. 19, midday)

A man came to the police station alleging threatening social‑media posts from an adult relative tied to a previous domestic incident. Later the same day, a second man reported being threatened after refusing sexual advances at a Solon residence two days earlier. Detectives are continuing both lines of inquiry; misdemeanor charges are possible.

Menacing after road encounter on Springside Lane (Nov. 21, 5:22 p.m.)

Two sisters—one a teen driver—reported that a black Hyundai swerved toward them, then turned around and followed their car for roughly a quarter‑mile while its driver allegedly made threatening hand gestures. The victims wish to pursue charges; the incident is under investigation and may result in menacing charges.

High‑speed OVI stop with firearm recovered (Nov. 21, 11:43 p.m.)

An officer observed a pickup traveling at an extremely high rate of speed on US‑422 and stopped it after it exited near the Harper Road area. The driver showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the station a breath test registered well over the legal limit. A loaded semi‑automatic handgun was found under the driver’s seat and was seized. The driver was arrested and faces OVI and related weapon and traffic charges; the vehicle was impounded.

Aggravated menacing following freeway dispute (Nov. 22, 7:55 p.m.)

A motorist reported being tailgated on the freeway, followed off at a SOM Center Road exit, and then threatened by the other driver—who reportedly said he would “blow his brains out.” No weapon was seen. The victim went to the police station to report the incident; detectives are investigating and aggravated menacing is a possible charge.

Alleged sexual contact inside Solon Jail (Nov. 23, 12:39 a.m.)

Detectives are investigating an allegation that one inmate attempted to engage another inmate in an unwanted sexual act in a shared housing unit shortly after midnight. Both were being held on unrelated theft‑related charges. No injuries were reported; felony charges are possible.
