AKRON, Ohio – Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise is warning residents about a fraudulent website that is falsely presenting itself as an official Summit County Fiscal Office site, according to a news release from the Fiscal Office.
The news release says the only official Summit County Fiscal Office website is https://fiscaloffice.summitoh.net/ and residents should rely exclusively on that address for Fiscal Office services and information.
The fraudulent site reportedly identifies itself as the “Summit County Auditor.” Summit County does not have a standalone county auditor’s office or a designated auditor website, the news release states. As a charter county, Summit County’s divisions of Auditor, Recorder and Treasurer are housed under one structure within the Summit County Fiscal Office.
Officials say the impersonating site is unauthorized, not affiliated with the Summit County Fiscal Office and may be designed to resemble a legitimate government website—potentially misleading residents into believing they are on an official county page.
Residents are strongly advised not to enter personal, financial or other sensitive information on any unofficial website and to navigate directly to the Fiscal Office’s official site for services, the release states: https://fiscaloffice.summitoh.net/.
Residents looking for Summit County property information can also use the county’s property search portal at https://propertyaccess.summitoh.net/, which is branded as part of the Summit County Fiscal Office.
