GATES MILLS, Ohio – Gates Mills officers responded to a mix of traffic enforcement, assistance calls and documentation reports from Feb. 2 through Feb. 8, according to incident information provided.
Traffic Stop Leads to Citation, Warrant Notice
On Feb. 2, an officer stopped a Cleveland man on Mayfield Road for expired license plates. The driver was cited for the plates violation and was advised he had a traffic warrant out of North Randall. North Randall authorities were unable to pick the man up at the time, police said.
Postal Truck Pulled From Ditch
Also on Feb. 2, officers responded to Battles Road after a postal truck became stuck in a ditch. The vehicle was eventually able to get out, and police assisted at the scene.
Coach Resignation Documented
On Feb. 3, police took a report for documentation after a St. Francis of Assisi parent/CYO coach resigned amid allegations of unprofessional verbal behavior toward other parents connected to a girls team. No further details were released.
Officer Helps After Child Locked in Vehicle
On Feb. 5, officers assisted a County Line resident who accidentally locked herself out of her vehicle while it was in the driveway, with a young child inside. An officer gained entry to the vehicle, police said.
Neighbor Concern at Vacant Home
On Feb. 6, officers responded to a vacant Cedar Road residence after a neighbor called about a vehicle in the driveway. Officers confirmed a liquidator was at the home for a scheduled appointment with the family.
North Randall Seeks Help With Suspected Stolen Truck
On Feb. 8, North Randall police asked a Gates Mills officer to speak with a Gates Mills Boulevard resident regarding the whereabouts of his truck. North Randall had stopped a vehicle they suspected was stolen that was connected back to the resident. Police said the resident was unaware the truck had been taken from a Cleveland warehouse unit, and no official report was filed by the resident. North Randall subsequently charged the driver. It was unknown when the resident last saw the truck.
