ORANGE, Ohio – RED the Steakhouse at Pinecrest in Orange will close after dinner service on February 28, 2026, ending a six-year run at the upscale open-air shopping center. The closure follows the expiration of the restaurant’s lease and what ownership is calling a mutual agreement with the property’s new landlord, which acquired the Pinecrest development in early 2025.
The departure affects RED’s high-profile corner at 200 Park Ave., a space that includes a 7,500-square-foot main dining room and a 2,100-square-foot rooftop patio overlooking the heart of the district. Management emphasized that the decision to part ways with the new ownership group does not signal a retreat from the East Side, but rather a strategic reset for the brand.
RED is already actively seeking a new East Side home and intends to return to the Chagrin corridor, the area where the steakhouse first built its legendary reputation over 20 years ago. While a specific new site has not yet been named, ownership indicated that an announcement regarding their next chapter could come very soon.
“Over the past six years, Pinecrest has played an incredibly meaningful role in RED’s story,” the company shared in a statement, expressing gratitude to the loyal guests and staff who defined the Pinecrest era.
While the Orange location prepares for its final service, RED’s downtown Cleveland restaurant at 417 Prospect Ave. remains fully operational. The downtown anchor will continue to serve as the brand’s primary destination while plans for the new suburban outpost take shape. Regulars have until February 28 to visit the 200 Park Ave. location for a final meal and a view from the rooftop.
