Key enforcement actions during this period included the arrest of a suspect for domestic violence and resisting arrest, several citations for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI), and investigations into local financial crimes and thefts.
Domestic Violence and Resisting Arrest on Monroe Drive
On February 21, 2026, Northfield Village officers were dispatched to a residence on Monroe Drive for a report of domestic violence. During the investigation, a female suspect resisted arrest from the responding officers. She was subsequently charged with both domestic violence and resisting arrest. The suspect was housed in the Macedonia Jail pending her arraignment on February 23 through Stow Municipal Court.
Northfield Village OVI Arrests and Traffic Offenses
Proactive traffic enforcement led to several arrests for impaired driving throughout the village:

Houghton Road Stop: On February 27, officers conducted a traffic stop on Houghton Road near Victory Drive. The driver was arrested and cited into Stow Municipal Court for OVI and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Passenger Charged: During the same Houghton Road stop, a passenger was arrested and cited for obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Ledge Road Stop: On February 28, an officer stopped a silver Ford Explorer in the area of Ledge Road and Northfield Road for a marked lanes violation. The driver showed signs of impairment and refused to provide a breath sample. He was issued a citation for OVI and marked lanes.

Speeding and Firearm Investigation: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Olde Eight Road for a speeding violation on February 28. The driver disclosed he had a firearm, and while initial information suggested he was prohibited from possessing it, further investigation confirmed he was legally allowed to have the weapon. He was released with a written warning for speed.
Theft and Disorderly Conduct at Local Establishments
Officers managed several calls regarding theft and disruptive behavior at Northfield businesses:

MGM Rewards Gas Station: On February 20, officers responded to a reported theft of alcohol on Northfield Road. A suspect was identified, arrested, and cited for theft.

MGM Casino Trespass: On February 23, officers were dispatched to the casino for an intoxicated female running from security. She barricaded herself in a bathroom stall and refused to exit. After officers forced entry, she was transported to Macedonia Jail and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business.

Smith Park BB Gun Incident: On February 27, police responded to Smith Park for a report of individuals pointing a gun at people. It was determined the weapon was a BB gun that had been fired on park property but not pointed at anyone. One adult and one juvenile were charged with disorderly conduct and trespassed from the park.
