Stow Police responded to dozens of incidents over a two-week period, with fraud, domestic violence, drug-related arrests and impaired driving among the most frequently reported categories.
Fraud and Identity Theft
Fraud and identity-related offenses were among the most common incidents during the reporting period. Identity fraud cases were reported on Williamsburg Drive and Norton Road on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18, respectively. A credit card misuse case was reported Feb. 17 on Leewood Road, and an identity fraud case involving use of another person’s information with intent to defraud was reported on Verner Road on Feb. 18. A theft-without-consent case linked to a Commerce Drive address was also logged, with an occurrence date going back to November. Additional fraud cases were reported on Arndale Road and at the Darrow Road area on Feb. 20, and a telecommunications fraud case was closed Feb. 27 on Williamson Road.
Domestic Violence
Police responded to multiple domestic violence incidents during the period. An arrest was made Feb. 18 on Forest Heights Drive on charges of domestic violence involving knowingly causing physical harm. A domestic incident on Kent Road on Feb. 18 was closed and involved unruly behavior and drug paraphernalia. A domestic violence arrest was made Feb. 19 on Orchard Drive, and another arrest followed early Feb. 21 on Cedar Crest Lane. OVI/DUI Arrests
Officers made several impaired driving arrests over the two-week span. A driver was arrested Feb. 17 at Graham Road and Sanford Avenue on OVI charges including a breath test result above .08. Another arrest was made Feb. 20 at Hudson Drive and Steels Corners Road. Early Feb. 22, an arrest was made at Fishcreek Road and Call Road. On Feb. 26, a driver was stopped near SR 8 and Seasons Road and arrested on OVI charges including an open container violation. An OVI arrest followed March 1 in the Stow area, and a separate impaired driving incident was reported the same evening at Kent Road and Fishcreek Road, with the driver refusing a breath test — a notable factor given the subject had a prior OVI offense within the last 20 years. Another OVI incident was recorded Feb. 28 on Fishcreek Road.
Drug-Related Arrests
Drug arrests occurred throughout both reporting weeks. A Feb. 18 arrest on Graham Road involved possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. An arrest early Feb. 21 involved drug abuse instruments, paraphernalia and Schedule I or II substance possession. A trespass arrest Feb. 21 on Darrow Road also included drug paraphernalia and obstruction charges. Additional drug-related incidents were recorded Feb. 22 on Kent Road and Graham Road. Early Feb. 25, an arrest on charges of drug trafficking, Schedule I or II possession, paraphernalia and obstructing official business was made in Stow. Drug paraphernalia cases were also logged Feb. 27 at Graham Road and Hudson Drive, and March 2 at Elmhurst Drive and Maplehurst Drive, as well as on Fishcreek Road.
Theft and Shoplifting
Theft incidents were spread across the city. A theft from a motor vehicle was reported Feb. 18 on Bridgewater Parkway. A theft without consent was reported Feb. 18 on Echo Valley Drive. Shoplifting incidents were reported multiple times at a Kent Road address on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25. Additional theft cases were reported on Kent Road on Feb. 23, with one resulting in a warrant, and another warrant was issued March 1 also on Kent Road.
