Solon Police Report: Lawn Mower Scam, Marijuana Seizures, and OVI Arrest

Solon police respond to a series of criminal incidents including a Craigslist fraud and several drug-related traffic stops.

SOLON, Ohio – The Solon Police Department recently handled several incidents involving Solon police reports, including a resident being scammed out of money for a lawn mower and multiple arrests for drug possession and impaired driving. These reports highlight a mix of financial fraud, traffic-related contraband seizures, and a domestic violence arrest over the first week of March 2026.

Financial Fraud and the Solon Police Reports on Scams

On March 4, a 38-year-old resident contacted officers after falling victim to a Craigslist scam. The victim attempted to purchase a 54-inch lawn mower and sent a $50 “hold” payment via CashApp. The suspect kemudian persuaded the victim to send an additional $100 for a Stihl leaf blower before severing all communication. Detectives are currently investigating the total loss of $150.

Marijuana and Contraband Seizures During Traffic Stops

Several traffic stops on Aurora Road led to the discovery of illegal substances:

  • March 5: An officer stopped a Nissan SUV for a window tint violation and discovered approximately 27 grams of marijuana. The 20-year-old driver from Cleveland was cited for drug possession and driving under suspension.

  • March 6: A 20-year-old Cleveland driver was stopped for a headlight violation. Police recovered 38 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and an alcoholic beverage. The driver faces charges for drug possession, paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol.

OVI Arrest and Fleeing Vehicles in Solon Police Reports

Police activity also focused on road safety and high-speed incidents:

  • High-Speed Flight: On March 5, a blue Dodge Challenger fled from an officer on Cannon Road, reaching high speeds and turning off its headlights to evade capture. The vehicle was last seen in Bedford Heights but could not be positively identified.

  • OVI and Identity Fraud: On March 7, a 37-year-old woman was stopped for speeding 78 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 422. After failing field sobriety tests and providing a false identity (her sister’s name), she was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, and furnishing false information.

Domestic Violence Response on Stockwood Drive

On the morning of March 8, officers arrived at a home on Stockwood Drive following reports of a physical domestic dispute between a husband and wife. A 34-year-old male was identified as the primary aggressor and arrested for domestic violence. No medical treatment was requested by either party at the scene.
