AURORA, Ohio – From March 4 through March 10, 2026, the Aurora Police Department addressed various community safety concerns ranging from significant property crimes to the execution of multiple arrest warrants. Key incidents during this period included a theft of luxury goods totaling over $1,200 and a rapid response to a suspected drug overdose. These reports highlight the department’s role in coordinating with neighboring jurisdictions and providing emergency medical support.
Retail and Property Theft Investigations
Property crimes involved both residential areas and local businesses throughout the week. On March 9, a representative from a retail store on S Chillicothe Rd reported a theft that had occurred the previous Saturday. An unidentified female suspect reportedly stole several bags with a total pre-tax value of $1,201.00. In a separate incident on Lena Dr, a business reported that a catalytic converter was severed from one of their trucks, likely occurring over the weekend of March 7. Additionally, a resident on Chelmsford Dr filed a report regarding a theft related to an Amazon purchase on March 5.
Emergency Medical Response and Overdose
Officers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a residence on Lake Av late on March 9 following a report of a 31-year-old male who had overdosed in a bathroom. Initial reports indicated the male was breathing but required immediate intervention. After regaining consciousness and responding to the female at the scene, the male was able to walk but ultimately refused transport to the hospital against medical advice. In an unrelated medical matter on March 5, police responded to a residence on Ravine Dr for a 79-year-old male in hospice care who had passed away.
Warrant Services and Traffic Enforcement
The department successfully cleared several outstanding warrants through proactive stops and 911 responses:
-
Warrant Service: On March 4, a 911 hang-up call on N Aurora Rd led to the discovery of a child alone in a vehicle. The father was found to have an active misdemeanor theft warrant out of Bedford and was processed on the scene.
-
Agency Assistance: On March 8, a traffic stop on Treat Rd resulted in a warrant confirmation for the driver, who was subsequently transferred to the custody of the Macedonia Police Department.
-
Fictitious Plates: A stop on Campus Dr on March 10 resulted in a vehicle being towed after the driver was cited for having no operator’s license and using fictitious plates.
Harassment and Civil Disputes
Aurora officers handled multiple reports of harassment and domestic tension. On March 9, a resident on N Bissell Rd reported telecommunication harassment from her child’s father. While the incident was determined to be a civil issue, the department provided a “special watch” for the complainant’s residence. Earlier in the week, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Woodlake Dr involving an intoxicated male, though the situation remained non-physical and the parties were separated.
