The updates include significant bridge repairs, resurfacing projects, and permanent ramp closures in Summit, Portage, Mahoning, Stark, Trumbull, and Ashtabula counties. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use the OHGO app for real-time updates.

Summit County: I-77 and All America Bridge Restrictions

In Summit County, several major projects are entering new phases. Beginning Monday, March 30, the ramp from I-77 southbound to Ghent Road in Fairlawn will close through mid-May, while the ramp from Ghent Road to I-77 southbound remains closed through July 2026. In Akron, the SR 261/All America Bridge southbound is now closed through early June, with traffic detoured via Tallmadge Avenue to Howard Street. Additionally, Stow Road under I-480 is closed through mid-November for bridge deck replacement, and noise wall installation continues on I-77 northbound between Waterloo Road and Lovers Lane.

Portage County: I-76 Lane Reductions and Streetsboro Intersection Work

Portage County drivers will face new impacts on I-76, where bridge repairs between SR 44 and Industry Road have reduced traffic to one lane in each direction through mid-June. In Streetsboro, a major intersection improvement project at SR 14 and SR 43 begins Friday evening, March 27. The intersection will be restricted to one through lane in each direction with no left turns permitted. Furthermore, the SR 303 slip lane to SR 14 will be permanently closed, and SR 303 at SR 14 will remain closed through mid-July. Resurfacing work on SR 82 and SR 88 is also scheduled to begin April 6.

Mahoning County: Permanent I-680 Ramp Closure in Youngstown

A significant change is coming to Youngstown as the ramp from Mahoning Avenue eastbound to I-680 southbound is scheduled to close permanently starting Monday, March 23. Drivers will need to use Glenwood Avenue to High Street to access the interstate. Other new impacts include occasional lane restrictions on I-680 between SR 193 and South Avenue through mid-April, and resurfacing work on I-680 from US 224 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike starting March 30. In Canfield, US 224 over I-76 remains reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge replacement.

Stark County: US 62 Resurfacing and Bridge Repairs

In Stark County, resurfacing work on US 62 in Alliance begins Monday, March 23, between Freshley Avenue and Federal Avenue, with various lane restrictions expected through July. Another new impact starts March 30, when Prairie College Street under I-77 will close through late April for bridge repairs. Ongoing work continues on US 30 from Trump Avenue to East Canton and from Liberty Avenue to the Columbiana County line, where motorists should expect lane restrictions for curb ramp repairs and resurfacing.

Trumbull County: Nightly I-80 Ramp Closures in Girard

Trumbull County will see nightly impacts starting April 6 for pedestrian bridge repairs over I-80 in Girard. Ramps from I-80 west to US 422 and US 422 west to I-80 east will close nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through April 14. The pedestrian bridge itself will also be closed during this period. Additionally, I-80 eastbound near the Pennsylvania state line continues to have lane restrictions for a pavement replacement project managed by PennDOT, which may cause significant delays for interstate travelers.

Ashtabula County: SR 7 Pavement Replacement

In Ashtabula County, work continues on State Route 7 in Conneaut. The roadway between State Street and Jackson Street is reduced to one lane in each direction for a pavement replacement project. This restriction is expected to remain in place until the project’s estimated completion in August 2026. ODOT reminds all motorists to “Move Over and Slow Down” for roadside workers and to stay alert when traveling through these active construction zones.
