FAIRLAWN, Ohio – The Senior Summit 2026 will transition to a new midweek format and a central Fairlawn location this spring to provide enhanced access to vital resources for older adults, caregivers, and regional professionals. The two-day event, organized by the Senior Summit Steering Committee, kicks off with a public Senior Expo on Wednesday, May 6, followed by a professional conference on Friday, May 8, both hosted at the St. George Fellowship Center.
Strategic Shift to Midweek Expo in Fairlawn
The Senior Summit 2026 is moving its signature Senior Expo from its traditional Saturday slot at Firestone Community Learning Center to Wednesday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This change to a midweek schedule is designed to allow seniors and service providers to connect during standard business hours when transportation and staffing are most available.
Located at the St. George Fellowship Center (3204 Ridgewood Road), the Expo remains free and open to the public. The 2026 event will feature:
-
Health and Wellness: On-site screenings and professional health consultations.
-
Direct Assistance: Dozens of community organizations offering immediate service support.
-
Interactive Learning: Educational breakout sessions and live demonstrations.
-
Hospitality: Free grab-and-go breakfast and a light lunch for the first 300 attendees.
Professional Conference and CEU Opportunities
On Friday, May 8, the Senior Summit 2026 continues with a full-day professional conference. This segment is tailored for attorneys, social workers, and healthcare professionals who serve the older adult population in Northeast Ohio. The sessions are designed to meet CLE and CEU requirements, focusing on best practices, emerging legal issues, and collaborative care models.
Tickets for the professional conference are required and can be purchased online. The steering committee emphasizes that this biennial expansion of the summit is crucial for equipping the regional workforce with the tools needed to support an aging demographic in Summit County.
Registration and Vendor Information for Summit County
Registration for the free public Expo is encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome. Residents can sign up at https://bit.ly/SeniorSummit2026 or by calling 330-899-5255.
Sponsorships and booth spaces are currently available for both the Expo and the Professional Conference. The committee is prioritizing vendors who provide interactive experiences—such as hands-on activities or diagnostic screenings—to ensure high engagement for attendees. Nonprofits and government agencies are encouraged to secure their spots early, as space at the St. George Fellowship Center is limited.
