HUDSON, Ohio – The Hudson Police Department addressed a wide range of calls between March 25 and March 31, 2026, including multiple reports of identity theft, suspicious activity involving drones and unsecured properties, and various community assistance requests. Residents reported concerns ranging from criminal mischief on Garden Lane to a missing juvenile at a local eatery on Park Lane.

Rising Concerns Regarding Hudson Identity Theft and Fraud

Hudson officers documented several instances of financial crimes during this reporting period. On March 30, a 73-year-old resident contacted the department from Florida to report an identity theft incident. This followed an earlier report on March 25, where police received a complaint regarding identity fraud on Boston Mills Road. These cases highlight a persistent need for vigilance regarding personal data security within the community.

Police Response to Suspicious Activity and Unsecured Properties

Officers were frequently dispatched to investigate suspicious activity throughout the city. On March 26, a resident on Ashley Drive reported a drone flying over their home. Earlier in the week, on March 25, police responded to a report of suspicious behavior at the Hudson United Methodist Church on Hudson Aurora Road. Additionally, officers conducted perimeter checks at several unsecured locations, including a vacant house on Barlow Road and residences on Cheshire Road and Haymarket Way.

Traffic Safety and Emergency Assistance Operations

The department managed multiple traffic hazards and assisted outside agencies to maintain public safety. On March 26, officers responded to a downed tree blocking the roadway at the intersection of Ravenna Street and Stone Road. The following morning, police assisted Hudson Public Power with a downed power line obstructing Woodyard Road. Officers also provided mutual aid to the New Franklin Police Department for a serious injury crash and assisted Streetsboro Police with an incident on I-480 West.

Welfare Checks and Community Incidents

Police performed several welfare checks, ensuring the safety of residents on Bard Drive, Stoney Hill Drive, and Herrick Park Drive. Notable incidents also included:

  • Theft/Larceny: A suspect was identified and charged with theft following a shoplifting complaint at a business on Darrow Road.

  • Criminal Mischief: Officers responded to Garden Lane for a complaint, though the caller ultimately declined to pursue formal charges.

  • Animal Complaints: Police addressed a report at Hudson Springs Park and a separate barking dog complaint on Atterbury Boulevard.

  • Property Damage: A report was filed regarding cosmetic damage to a church on West Streetsboro Street that occurred approximately five months prior.
