Avandra Imaging, a Cleveland-area startup, has raised $17.75 million to expand its federated network for de-identified medical imaging data. The company is co-founded by Aegis Ventures and led by CEO Ryan Tarzy, with aims to improve access to imaging data for healthcare and AI research.
Richfield’s orthobrain has secured $7.5 million in funding to expand its orthodontic platform that helps general dentists integrate orthodontics into their practices. The funding comes from CareCapital, JumpStart Ventures, and JobsOhio and will support team growth, technology improvements, and wider adoption.
Accelerator Programs
JumpStart is currently accepting applications for Cohort 3 of its Trailblazer Software Accelerator. This free, three-month program offers up to $125,000 in non-dilutive support, expert advising, and an investor showcase. Ohio founders interested in fast-tracking early-stage software startups must apply by April 27.
Economic Development
Ohio’s cybersecurity industry is experiencing rapid growth, with three cities – Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati – ranking among the top ten fastest-growing cybersecurity job markets in the United States, according to a new report from Upwind.

Today (April 14) is the last day to book hotel rooms at the special rate for the Ohio-ACC Spring Summit, which will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Cleveland Marriott East. Government Initiatives
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is bidding to make Ohio the next headquarters of NASA. The governor’s pitch highlights the state’s aerospace history and research institutions as the current NASA headquarters lease in Washington D.C. expires in 2028.
