Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise has been recognized with the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award acknowledges Scalise’s role in preparing Summit County’s annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR), which earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting – the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“The certificate also recognizes Fiscal Officer Scalise with the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for responsibly preparing the report and demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure,” according to the announcement.
The ACFR serves as a critical tool for maintaining transparency and accountability of public funds, containing financial statements, supporting schedules, statistical tables, and narrative explanations about the county’s finances.

Those without internet access may view the report by appointment at the Fiscal Office, located in the Ohio Building at 175 S. Main Street on the 4th floor in downtown Akron.
