Aurora Police: Red Truck Pursuit at 80 MPH, Crack Cocaine Found During Traffic Stop and Public Fight Outside Store

Vehicle Pursuits and Traffic Stops

On April 15, officers engaged in a pursuit at 1200 S Chillicothe Rd involving a red truck with a driver who refused to stop. The chase continued down Lena where the suspect was driving at 80 mph before looping back around, eventually returning to the city where transfer to another jurisdiction occurred.

A traffic stop on April 16 at Aurora Rd/Limits resulted in drug paraphernalia recovery.

On April 17, officers conducted a traffic stop at 549 S Chillicothe Rd involving a black Chevy Malibu. Medical assistance was requested for one individual with chest pain, and officers discovered crack cocaine at the scene.

Theft and Fraud

A 25-year-old female reported a possible scam on April 15 at Emerald Ct. The victim stated, “I thought I was calling Amazon to cancel my Amazon Prime,” but discovered a third-party bank was added to the call attempting to obtain $60,000. No money was transferred, but the victim went to her bank and had her accounts locked.

On April 21, retail theft was reported at 549 S Chillicothe Rd when a female suspect stole children’s clothes from the store. Officers noted the suspect’s vehicle was a white BMW. The store was able to provide a possible suspect and the vehicle was confirmed to be a white BMW.

Disturbances and Disputes

A fight was reported on April 19 at 549 S Chillicothe Rd involving two males physically fighting in front of the Puma store. The store manager identified as Ryan Lolles reported the incident. Both individuals involved received summons for disorderly conduct.

A domestic dispute was reported on April 20 at 650 Thornhill Dr. The caller advised his mother had kicked him out of the house and wouldn’t let him retrieve his property. Officers noted the caller was 18 and still in high school.

Medical Emergencies and Death

On April 19, officers responded to Deepwoods Dr for a 74-year-old male found unresponsive in bed. Officers were unable to perform CPR, and the coroner was contacted. The scene was released to a funeral home after family was notified.

Property Crimes

A burglary was reported on April 21 at Thornhill Dr when a caller stated someone had broken into her house. The suspect broke the door and fled in a white SUV. A felonious assault charge was filed in connection with this incident.

A female reported dropping off old ammunition at 100 S Aurora Rd on April 19.

Other Incidents

On April 18, a female at Whisperwood Ln reported a solicitor on her property. The individual claimed to be from Erie Roofing. Officers took a report of the unwanted visitor.

A disabled vehicle was reported on Page Rd/Lena Dr on April 15. Officers noted the vehicle would need a flatbed and winch for towing due to front-end damage.
