Summit and Medina Counties are preparing to participate in Ohio’s eighth annual In-Demand Jobs Week celebration from May 5-9, 2025. The statewide initiative focuses on connecting job seekers with high-growth occupations across various industries in Ohio under this year’s theme: “Get in the Game – Take Charge of Our Future!”
OhioMeansJobs centers in both counties will host specialized events highlighting career training and recruitment opportunities in several booming sectors, including healthcare, information technology, and manufacturing. To increase accessibility, activities will be held at the OhioMeansJobs Summit County location and at local libraries throughout both counties.
“Summit County fully welcomes the state’s initiatives for In-Demand Jobs Week 2025,” said Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro. “Our county is rich in career opportunities across many high-demand employment sectors, catering to job seekers with various skills and experience. We encourage employers and job seekers alike to take advantage this week.”
The celebration has gained strong support from the business community, with many local companies planning to participate in recruitment events. Medina County Commissioner Colleen Swedyk noted, “Employers in Medina County are eager to leverage In-Demand Jobs Week to better engage with the available workforce in our communities.”
To facilitate these connections, the OhioMeansJobs business services team has organized job fairs and hiring events featuring employers with immediate and future openings in high-demand fields.
