Cedar Road Vehicle Theft Among Several Serious Incidents

SUV Stolen From Apartment Complex as Crime Continues

MAY 14 – A University Heights resident reported their 2023 model SUV stolen from The Vantage apartments parking lot on Cedar Road. According to police reports, all keys to the vehicle were accounted for, suggesting sophisticated theft methods may have been employed. This marks the third vehicle theft in the area this month.

Laundry Dispute Leads to Police Response at The Vantage

MAY 18 – Officers responded to a heated argument between two Beachwood residents at The Vantage building on Cedar Road after one resident allegedly removed another’s laundry from a washing machine before the cycle was complete. “She had no right to touch my clothes!” one resident reportedly told officers. The situation was resolved without arrests after police mediation.

Michigan Visitors Skip Out on $600 Hotel Bill

MAY 17 – Embassy Suites on Park East Drive reported guests from Michigan departed without paying their bill totaling more than $600. Hotel management provided surveillance footage to assist with identification of the suspects, who had stayed for three nights. Police are investigating this as a theft of services case.

Multiple Warrant Arrests Keep Officers Busy

A South Euclid resident was arrested on MAY 17 and turned over to Highland Heights Police Department on an outstanding warrant.

During a traffic stop on MAY 16, a Cleveland resident was arrested at Harvard and Green Road for an outstanding Solon traffic warrant.

A Maple Heights man was taken into custody on MAY 16 during a Cedar Road traffic stop when officers discovered an active warrant. Upon arrest, he reportedly told officers, “I thought I took care of that already.” He also faces charges for driving under suspension.

Retail Theft Continues to Plague Area

Two Euclid men were arrested on MAY 17 at 26300 Cedar Road for receiving stolen property. Store security had reportedly tracked the suspects through several stores before contacting police.

A Cleveland woman was arrested for shoplifting at Zara in Beachwood Place Mall on MAY 15. According to the report, she concealed approximately $250 worth of merchandise in a modified bag designed to defeat security sensors.

Assaults and Disturbances

A Shaker Heights resident reported being pushed during a dispute over a parking space at Beachwood Place Mall on MAY 16.

A Willoughby resident caused a disturbance at a Richmond Road restaurant on MAY 17 when he allegedly became argumentative with staff about his bill and refused to leave when asked.

An ongoing dispute between students at Beachwood Middle School resulted in an assault incident on MAY 14 during lunch period.
