A new cigar lounge is being planned for downtown Lorain’s historic Broadway corridor. The Crooked Leaf, located at 600 Broadway, aims to provide customers with “a luxurious and serene environment where they can unwind and escape from their daily stressors,” according to the business website.
The establishment’s mission statement emphasizes creating “an experience that is both memorable and rejuvenating, leaving our customers feeling refreshed and renewed.” The business operates with the motto “Sip Slow, Smoke Well,” though no official opening date has been announced.
No records of permits or zoning approvals for The Crooked Leaf were found in available Lorain planning commission meetings or city council minutes from 2024 and 2025.
The new lounge is situated in the historic Burge Law Building at 600 Broadway, which originally started as the Dollar Savings Bank in 1901. The building was a favorite structure for the firemen of Engine Company No. and has been part of Lorain’s downtown landscape for over a century.
The Crooked Leaf joins other recent additions to Lorain’s downtown revitalization efforts. The addition of new restaurants and entertainment venues has been giving “an economic boost to revitalization efforts and providing more dining options in the International City.”
