Fraud and Scams
A Solon woman lost $563 after falling victim to an email scam on July 1. The resident received what appeared to be an email from her boss about a piano for sale, but the scammer impersonated her supervisor using a fake display name. She paid “Brisk Movers Services” through Zelle before realizing the deception when solicited for an additional $1,302. Detectives are investigating the case.
Traffic and OVI Incidents
Officers arrested Taijwinder Singh, 30, of Twinsburg, for OVI on July 1 after he crashed his silver SUV at Davis Automotive Group on Kruse Drive. Singh denied driving the vehicle and claimed he was car shopping, but officers found his license inside the damaged SUV. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test at Solon Jail.
Brandon Stonum, 36, of Maple Heights, was arrested July 4 on US 422 after an unsafe lane change that forced another driver to brake hard. Officers found marijuana and suspected Oxycodone pills in his vehicle. He faces drug possession and driving violations.
Domestic Violence
Ashley Fraigun, 42, of Solon, was arrested early July 2 for domestic violence after allegedly throwing a ceramic bowl at her husband and punching him, leaving visible marks. The incident occurred in the 6900 block of SOM Center Road following an argument between the couple.
Trespassing and Assault
Shaneif Johnson, 28, of Solon, was arrested July 5 for criminal trespass at the Aurora Road 7-Eleven. Management reported he was attempting to steal items and loitering despite receiving a previous trespass warning last August.
Officers responded to an assault report at Solon Motel on Aurora Road early July 6, but the female victim declined to press charges and requested only a ride home. The male suspect did not answer his door for officers.
