Solon Police Reports: Loaded Gun, Endangering Children Incident and Drunk Driver

Officers make multiple arrests in week spanning domestic violence to weapons charges

ARRESTS

July 12 – Gun and Drug Charges Result in Felony Arrests A Cleveland man faces multiple felony charges after officers discovered a loaded pistol and marijuana during a traffic stop. Officers pulled over a black Audi on Aurora Road for window tint violations when they detected the smell of marijuana. A search revealed four jars of suspected marijuana weighing more than 2.5 ounces and a loaded semi-automatic pistol under the driver’s seat. Dante L. Morris, 33, of Cleveland, was arrested and charged with Having Weapons Under Disability and Improper Handling of a Firearm. Morris had a prior drug trafficking conviction that prohibited him from carrying firearms.

July 11 – Drunk Driver Arrested After Citizen Complaint A Bentleyville man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence after a concerned citizen reported erratic driving. Officers observed a gray Porsche leaving Hope Memorial Church and traveling left of center on Solon Road. The driver failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol content of .123 percent. Randal J. Lupi, 44, of Bentleyville, was charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, and Driving in Marked Lanes.

July 11 – Man Arrested for Disorderly Conduct at Gas Station A confrontation at True North gas station led to the arrest of a Solon man. An employee reported that a customer spent 30 minutes in the bathroom and became argumentative when asked to leave. The suspect challenged the employee and continued disorderly behavior. Shaneif Johnson, 28, of Solon, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Menacing.

July 10 – Domestic Violence Arrest on Andre Lane Officers arrested a Solon man following a domestic violence incident. A woman reported that her husband pushed her to the ground and kicked her phone away during an argument. She stated she hit her head during the incident. Officers located the suspect driving on Pettibone Road and made the arrest. Nicola Farley, 60, of Solon, was charged with Domestic Violence and Disrupting Public Service.

July 8 – Mother Arrested for Endangering Children A Cleveland woman was cited and arrested after leaving two young children unattended in a hot vehicle. Passersby called police after finding a 2-year-old and 4-year-old in a parked Chevy Cruze with windows rolled up on an 82-degree day. The mother had been inside Bryant and Stratton College for 20 minutes. Aaliayah Armstrong, 23, of Cleveland, was cited for Endangering Children and arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant.

INVESTIGATIONS

July 9 – Domestic Dispute Investigated Officers responded to a Harper Road home for a disturbance report. A Cleveland woman claimed the father of her unborn child threatened her with a gun. The man admitted to acting like he had a weapon but denied having one. No gun was found, and prosecutors advised against filing charges. The couple was separated for the night.

July 8 – Threatening Text Messages Under Investigation A Solon woman reported receiving threatening text messages from an acquaintance. Officers are investigating the aggravated menacing complaint.

July 1 – Employee Theft Investigation Ongoing Hobby Lobby loss prevention reported a theft scheme involving unauthorized discounts. A seasonal worker allegedly used “under-ringing” techniques to apply improper discounts between November 2024 and January 2025, resulting in over $3,000 in losses. The suspect is no longer employed, and detectives are investigating.
