Stow City Council Vice President Matt Riehl has been inducted into the Association of Ohio Commodores, receiving the state’s most distinguished honor through the Executive Order of the Ohio Commodore.
The association, formed by Governor James A. Rhodes in 1966, recognizes outstanding Ohioans for their business accomplishment, acumen and leadership. The organization was incorporated as a non-profit in 1971 and now focuses on supporting the Office of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
“I’m truly honored to be inducted into the Association of Ohio Commodores,” Riehl said. “I thank the Governor and Members of the Board of Directors for this honor. I look forward to working to promote the great state of Ohio.”
The nonpartisan association includes more than 500 members from diverse backgrounds, including government officials, university presidents, banking and legal professionals, trade organization leaders and senior management from Ohio manufacturers.
Riehl represents Ward One on Stow City Council.
