September 5-13 Incident Summary

Property Lost/Found

Sept. 5, 3:18 p.m. – S. Chillicothe Rd. Two iPhones used for scanning clothing missing from retail store for over a month. Devices disappeared from business location. Unknown if lost or stolen. Documentation needed for corporate purposes.

Sept. 11, 10:25 a.m. – W. Garfield Rd. Wallet previously reported missing was recovered by staff and returned to owner.

Traffic Stops

Sept. 8, 10:53 a.m. – Orchard Av. Traffic stop conducted on 2016 Chevrolet. Driver cited for failure to reinstate license after operating vehicle without proper documentation.

Sept. 8, 11:46 p.m. – N. Chillicothe Rd. Multiple traffic stops conducted throughout evening. Driver cited for DUS failure to reinstate and non-compliance violations. Gateway checkpoint established.

Sept. 9, 11:44 a.m. – N. Aurora Rd. Traffic stop on 2011 Kia conducted. Driver was making door dash delivery when stopped. Vehicle dropped off and driver given ride back to city.

Sept. 12, 10:05 p.m. – S. Chillicothe Rd. Warrant arrest executed during traffic stop. Subject transported to jail on outstanding charges.

Property Damage

Sept. 8, 4:39 p.m. – N. Aurora Rd. Rear windshield on Ford Edge shattered while vehicle parked in middle lot between two streets. Owner advised windshield will be pulled and video reviewed.

Welfare Checks

Sept. 8, 4:58 p.m. – East Blvd. Individual reported struggling with personal issues and asked if they could harm themselves. Mental health emergency line contacted while officer on scene. Crisis intervention provided.

Sept. 10, 5:57 p.m. – Chatham Dr. Welfare check conducted on resident who missed psychiatric appointment. The person sent a message expressing concerning thoughts about sitting in a car in a garage but mentioned that their dogs were more important. Officer made contact and ensured safety.

Menacing/Domestic

Sept. 8, 7:27 p.m. – Townline Rd. Domestic dispute involving threats made during soccer practice. Wife threatened husband and kept baiting him into fight. Currently in legal litigation over residency after purchasing house. Male stated he was in fear for safety and felt other male would hurt him.

Suspicious Activity

Sept. 9, 8:24 p.m. – Len Ct. Female reported finding tracking device placed on her car. Victim has restraining order against suspect. Device was put on vehicle by person subject to court orders.

Sept. 9, 6:17 p.m. – S. Chillicothe Rd. Report of apartment manager concerned about 67-year-old resident who hasn’t been seen in over a week. Neighbors reported unusual smells from unit. Family member who visits maybe once every two years contacted. Investigation revealed resident was hoarder who had not driven car in two years and had no family that visits regularly.

Missing Persons

Sept. 9, 9:55 a.m. – Shady Grove. Missing person wearing black shorts, black shirt and autistic, last seen at 8:30 a.m. Just started on new medication. Mother saw bike tipped over with helmet at East Homestead and Shady Grove. Multiple family members and officers involved in search. Grandmother remained at residence while search conducted. Person located and returned safely.

Juvenile Complaints

Sept. 13, 12:49 p.m. – Beljon Ln. Runaway juvenile left residence after using matches near skateboard, fearing they would be in trouble. Juvenile became anxious and rode skateboard toward old golf course area. Multiple contacts made throughout day with family and neighbors before juvenile located in woods near entrance to development and returned home safely.
