The Solon Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the vicinity of Harper Road on Friday, September 19, targeting impaired drivers before they can cause harm to themselves or others.
The checkpoint aims to detect impaired drivers and educate the public about the dangers of drunk driving. The exact location will be released Friday.
“The Solon Police Department is dedicated to making the roadways safe for everyone,” said Sergeant Anthony Horvath. “We want the public to know that we will be out there for the benefit of the motoring public and pedestrians. Our officers work hard to keep the roadways safe and checkpoints are an effective tool to assist in reaching that goal.”

The Solon Police Department participates in the Cuyahoga County Law Enforcement Task Force, a coalition of 45 law enforcement agencies working collaboratively to combat impaired and aggressive driving throughout the county.
