Macedonia police handled a variety of incidents from late September through early October, ranging from theft arrests to domestic disputes and a death investigation.
Crime Reports
Macedonia police arrested an individual for theft at Walmart on Macedonia Commons Boulevard on September 26. Loss prevention staff provided evidence of three separate theft incidents, including tag-switching shirts valued at $23.48 for a $1 item and taking food items worth $9.25 without paying. The individual was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft and transported to Macedonia jail.
A Macedonia resident reported items stolen from their unlocked vehicle on Hollow Wood Drive overnight between October 5-6. The thief took $15 cash and a credit card from the owner’s wallet. The stolen card was used for a $24.02 charge at Speedway on East Aurora Road before being recovered.
Domestic and Civil Disputes
Officers responded to multiple domestic incidents throughout the week. On September 28, police were called to Whispering Woods Drive for a verbal dispute between a divorcing couple arguing over business ownership during a custody exchange. Both parties were found to be engaged in mutual verbal disagreement, and no violation of their restraining order occurred.
A more serious domestic incident occurred October 6 on Roseland Drive when a husband threatened self-harm during an argument with his wife. The man grabbed a knife and sustained a minor cut to his shoulder, later telling officers he did it “to change the subject from arguing and fighting to sympathy and resentment.” The family was experiencing stress over relocation decisions, with no charges filed. The couple separated for the night.
On September 30, a woman filed a telecommunications harassment report at the police station, stating her ex-husband continued messaging her despite their dissolution agreement prohibiting contact.
