AURORA, Ohio – The latest Aurora police blotter from November 19 through December 1, 2025, includes several domestic disputes, a reported overdose outside a local business, and a speeding stop that turned into a brief pursuit and operating‑while‑impaired arrest. Officers also handled a sex offense report, a fraud complaint, and multiple welfare and mental health calls.
Three Notable Incidents From the Reports
1. Overdose call behind a local business
Police and EMS responded to a business on Shawnee Trail after reports of an employee possibly overdosing near the dumpsters. The man was found breathing but twitching in a chair near the dumpsters, and it was unknown what substance he had taken.
Multiple 911 calls came in, and officers requested extra units after noting the subject’s prior history, including assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. The man was transported to a hospital by squad, with an officer riding along and hospital security advised that he was fighting staff.
2. Speeding stop turns into brief pursuit and OVI arrest
On December 1, an officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on West Garfield Road. The driver initially refused to stop and continued out of the city at about 60 mph, prompting police to alert a neighboring department.
The vehicle was later stopped at gunpoint in a nearby community, and the driver was detained. Field sobriety testing was completed with assistance from another jurisdiction, and the driver was arrested on a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The vehicle was towed, an administrative license suspension was entered, and the driver later posted bond and was given a court date.
3. Domestic violence call where a sibling reports choking attempt
Officers responded to a domestic violence call on Moneta Avenue in the early morning hours of November 28. An 18‑year‑old caller told dispatchers that her 22‑year‑old brother had been drinking, was “out of control,” punching people in the home and had tried to choke her.
Family members, including a young child, were inside the residence. The man left the immediate area briefly but was later located by police, taken into custody and transported to jail on a domestic violence charge. Victim information and Marsy’s Law notifications were documented in the report.
