Rootstown Township, Ohio — Two men were found dead late Thursday night following a shooting incident at a residence on Biltz Road in Rootstown Township, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at approximately 10 p.m. on January 8. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered two men lying on the floor of the home with gunshot wounds. A firearm was found between the two individuals. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Bradley Goldner, 40, and Andrew Carney, 31. Investigators determined that three shots were fired during the incident.
Authorities believe the case to be a murder-suicide, though the investigation remains ongoing. No further details have been released, and officials have stated that additional information will be provided if it becomes available.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and urges anyone with information to come forward.
