Hudson’s Snow Removal Plan: How 350 Miles of Roads Get Cleared
While residents are watching the forecast, Public Works crews are watching the roads.
According to the City of Hudson’s latest winter operations update, the city is prepared for another season of Ohio’s snow and ice. Crews are responsible for maintaining about 350 miles of roadways and work around the clock when winter storms arrive.
When snow hits, Hudson’s snow removal plan generally prioritizes:
- Main routes and high-volume streets
- School access roads and key connectors
- Residential neighborhoods and side streets
Plowing and salting operations may continue overnight during major events to keep roads as safe and passable as possible. The city is also asking for residents’ help in a few ways:
- Avoid parking on the street when snow is in the forecast or plows are active
- Give snowplows and salt trucks plenty of room to operate
- Be patient as crews cycle through their assigned areas
More details about the city’s approach to winter weather, including maps and additional guidelines, are available in the city’s newsflash on the Hudson Snow Removal Plan.
