RAVENNA, Ohio – The Ravenna Police Department reported multiple arrests and incidents during the week of January 14-20, 2026, including warrant arrests, domestic violence cases, and drug-related charges.
Warrant Arrests
A subject from Akron was taken into custody on January 14 after the Portage County Sheriff’s Office advised they had the individual in custody on a warrant. The warrant was faxed to the justice center.
A Ravenna resident was arrested on January 17 during a warrant service at a Diamond Street residence. The subject was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
A Kent resident was arrested on January 20 on a misdemeanor warrant and transferred to the Portage County Justice Center.
Theft and Vehicle Incident
A Kent resident was charged with theft without consent on January 16 after taking a victim’s vehicle and three puppies without permission while staying at the victim’s residence. A warrant was obtained for the arrest.
Criminal Trespass
A homeless individual was cited on January 16 for criminal trespass after being found sleeping in a wash bay. Police said the subject had been warned five times by Ravenna Police and the property owner not to return to the property. A citation was issued.
Burglary
A Ravenna resident was arrested on January 16 for burglary after forcing entry into an apartment on South Walnut Street. The subject was transported to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office jail.
OVI and Drug Paraphernalia
A Girard resident was arrested on January 17 for operating a vehicle while impaired following a traffic stop for a stop bar violation. Open containers and a glass pipe were found during a vehicle search. The subject was cited and released pending test results.
A Beloit resident was arrested on January 20 during a traffic stop after a K9 unit alerted to the vehicle. A crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine was found in a backpack. A mobile drug test yielded a positive result.
Domestic Incidents
Two Ravenna residents were involved in a domestic incident on January 17 at Hazen Avenue. Officers responded to reports of loud screaming and found the couple arguing in the hallway. Both were advised they would receive summonses for disorderly conduct.
A Ravenna resident was arrested on January 19 following a domestic incident at North Walnut Street. The subject attempted to leave the scene and refused to comply with police commands. Charges included obstructing official business, domestic violence, and child endangering.
