A search operation is currently underway for a missing diver in Lake Erie, approximately nine miles offshore. The incident, reported at 3:15 PM today, involves Marine 21 and the United States Coast Guard Service (USCGS) actively searching for the diver.
The diver was last seen in the vicinity of a watercraft incident near South Freeway Drive. The authorities have not yet released the diver’s identity, and the circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.

Update: Body Recovered in Ongoing Lake Erie Search

Cleveland, OH — In a tragic development, the search and rescue operation for the missing diver on Lake Erie has resulted in the recovery of a body. According to NE Ohio Scanner, the body was found at approximately 8:11 PM near the US Coast Guard Station (USCGS) 1055 E9.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded promptly to the scene. The recovered individual is described as a male in his 70s, and he was found in full cardiac arrest. Efforts to resuscitate the man are currently underway.
The initial search began earlier in the day after reports of a missing diver nine miles off the coast of Lake Erie prompted an extensive response from Marine 21 and the US Coast Guard.
