Gates Mills Police Reports: Missing Toddler Found Safe, Report of Child Driving, Aggressive Driver Reported

Missing toddler found safe in family vehicle

A Gates Mills Blvd. resident reported her two-year-old son missing from their yard on Oct. 10. Officers immediately located the boy safely inside the family’s vehicle parked in the driveway.

Report of child driving leads to area search

On Oct. 11, officers received notification from Chester police about a young child apparently driving a jeep with two adults in the back seat, traveling westbound on Wilson Mills near Caves. Gates Mills officers checked the area but did not observe the vehicle.

Solicitor warned about village ordinance

A man knocked on the front door of a Dorchester residence on Oct. 11, soliciting for restoration work and leaving a flyer. An officer contacted the company to advise them of the village’s no solicitation ordinance.

Aggressive driver reported on Mayfield Road

A motorist reported being tailgated while driving west on Mayfield Road on Oct. 14. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the involved parties.

Stolen vehicle search comes up empty

Sirius monitoring reported a stolen Dodge Durango pinging in the area of Chagrin River and Riverview Roads on Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. Officers searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.

Warrant suspect arrested, released after paying fine

Linndale police stopped a 32-year-old Parma man on Oct. 17 who had an outstanding failure to appear traffic warrant with Gates Mills police. A Gates Mills officer took custody of the suspect at the station, where he paid his fine and was released.
