WINDHAM, Ohio โ The Windham Police Department is turning minor traffic stops into holiday generosity with a new traffic stop toy donation program running from December 2, 2025, through December 25, 2025.
During this period, officers will have the option, in certain situations, to provide drivers with a special โWarning for Christmas Morningโ voucher instead of a traditional traffic citation for qualifying minor traffic infractions.
Rather than paying a ticket, eligible drivers will be asked to donate a new, unwrapped toy in place of the citation. The toys will be used to help local children and families in need this holiday season, shifting the focus from punishment to community support and kindness.
Toy donations can be dropped off 24/7 at the Windham Police Department lobby, located at:
9015 Maple Grove Rd.
Windham, Ohio 44288
The department hopes this traffic stop toy donation program will turn an unpleasant momentโbeing pulled overโinto an opportunity to give back and brighten Christmas morning for families in Windham.
Residents with questions about the Warning for Christmas Morning voucher or the toy donation program can call the Windham Police Department at 330-326-2212, extension 4.
Please note: Not all traffic violations qualify for this program. Officers will determine eligibility based on the type and severity of the offense.
