The Trash Boys LLC: Teen Entrepreneurs Making a Difference in Garfield Heights

Garfield Heights, Ohio — In the summer of 2024, teenage brothers Andre Willis and Drevian Arrington transformed a simple idea into a thriving community service, establishing The Trash Boys LLC. Inspired by a TikTok influencer discussing entrepreneurial opportunities for teens, the brothers launched their business to assist residents with various waste management and yard services.

Services Offered

The Trash Boys LLC provides a range of services tailored to meet the needs of their community, including:

  • Curbside Trash Service: Transporting trash cans to and from the curb for weekly collection.
  • Trash Can Washing: Cleaning and sanitizing garbage bins to maintain hygiene and reduce odors.
  • Yard Clean-Up: Assisting with seasonal yard maintenance, including leaf raking and debris removal.
  • Junk Removal and Moving Assistance: Helping residents declutter by removing unwanted items and providing support during moves.

Their clientele primarily consists of senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, reflecting the brothers’ commitment to serving those who may struggle with these tasks.

Community Recognition

The dedication of Willis and Arrington has not gone unnoticed. In August 2024, the Garfield Heights City Council and Mayor Matt Burke honored the brothers with a special resolution and a resident recognition award. Mayor Burke emphasized the importance of acknowledging positive contributions from the youth, stating, “We want to reward the youth that are doing the good things around our city. And what they do is incredible.”

Business Growth and Future Plans

Since its inception, The Trash Boys LLC has experienced significant growth. Support from local organizations and community members has enabled the brothers to invest in equipment, such as bicycles, to reach clients more efficiently. They have also connected with business leaders and educators to gain insights on sustaining and expanding their operations.

Looking ahead, Willis and Arrington plan to:

  • Develop a Website and App: Enhance accessibility and streamline service requests for clients.
  • Hire Additional Employees: Expand their team to meet increasing demand and provide employment opportunities within the community.
  • Balance School and Business: Create a structured plan to manage their academic responsibilities alongside their entrepreneurial endeavors.
